Day 7 - Cardinal
You will probably see a lot of birds on this blog over the next year. I love birdwatching and photographing the beautiful birds I see in my backyard.
This is a male Northern Cardinal. The male Cardinals are the bright red ones you see. Females are a tan/yellowish color with red beaks and red tint on the wings and tail. The brighter red males feed at higher rates than duller males. So I suspect this guy has had a pretty good winter!

Beautiful! The cardinal is our state bird. I love the vibrant red.
That red is unbelievable!
Absolutely gorgeous. The colors in this photo are fabulous. I love the contrast between the bright red cardinal and the flecks of snow. *two thumbs up*
